Timer won’t turn off

I have a Garmin Swim 2. It’s 2 months old. The timer doesn’t seem to work properly. On pool swim, when I press start to swim the timer turns on at the top third of the watch. It beeps and vibrates and won’t stop unless I press stop to save or discard my swim. If I don’t stop it my swim recording stops after about 4 lengths and I have to reselect pool swim. The workout option works as it should

  • Could you be a bit more specific with your description? I read it several times, but still can not figure out which timer do you refer. Is it the countdown timer, the lap time or swim time? Do you use auto rest function? Which SW version do you use? Was it like this from the beginning?

During swim you should use the lap button (lower right) to record resting periods. With auto rest, the watch does it itself. Black background means resting period, grey background is swimming period.

I never experienced such symptoms you described, I use mine for 3 months now.

It did not do it when I first got the watch. It started when I went to the Critical Swim Speed Test.

I am not sure which timer it is. It appears in the top of the screen when I press to start the swim and covers the top third of the screen. It vibrates and makes a noise. The only way to make it stop is to stop the swim recording. If I leave it going the watch just turns off and stops recording my swim. I have tried every way I can think of to turn off the timer and nothing works.

  • I think you need to contact garmin support with this issue.
