No Infinite Pool (Static Swimming)?

Oh, and before people think I'm referring to those aesthetically gorgeous pools with no borders (that people call infinite border pool); it's not that. I refer to those small pools built for training simulating a river stream so you actually swim forever without actually going anywhere. Static/tethered swimming is the poor man's version of the same concept. In both cases it would make sense to set pool size as infinite.

As a workaround you could use open water swimming with GPS turned off.

Hey! I tried this too but where is it getting the distance metric from? I did two 40 minute swims and with the ‘GPS on’ it marked around 1600m and with ‘GPS off’ more like 2100m. I know the ‘GPS on’ metric must be wrong, but the other one? Where is it calculated from...?

It seems that the measurement with GPS off comes from accelerometers. It is good news for endless pool guys, but it is terrible for me, resulting doubled distance measurement for all of my open water swims.

Yes but impossible to create a workout for use in the Open water activity.

I think there is a gap in the market for another piece of equipment.

Some sort of guage that measured and tracked instantaneous force in kg over time then translated that into a swim pace.
