Garmin Connect - Android - Watch faces settings don't work

I am unable to access settings of any watch faces via Garmin Connect on android. I've got "problem communicating with your Garmin device" after I press "Settings" in the Watch faces screen. I tried another android phone, that can successfully configure different garmin watches. No success. Tried different faces (crystal, actiFace, TDB). No success.

Anyone else experiencing this?

  • Same problem here. I'm configuring the watch faces via Garmin Express (but now I'm back to stock face because crystal/actiFace had issues).

     

  • I had this issue on the iPhone, but found a workaround. This workaround helps maybe also on Android. It looks like an initialization issue either on the watch or in the mobile app.

    Install the face(s) via mobile app (Connect IQ)

    Connect your watch with Garmin Express on the desktop/laptop.

    In Garmin Express (on the desktop) I can change the settings without problems.

    Sync the watch with Garmin Express (desktop).

    From now on I could access the settings also via Connect Mobile.

    I'm running the latest mobile app version, the latest desktop app version and the latest Swim 2 firmware (2.30).
