I tend to charge to 80% to maximise the battery life.
I have my display set to gesture.
When charging the watch it would be helpful if the display stayed on so that I can tell how charged it is.
The only reason for the display to turn off is to save battery but that isn't likely to be an issue when the watch is being charged.
