Not sure if this is device specific, but has anyone experienced and solved this?
Scenario:
FR970 with AI training plan linked (TrainAsONE, which is the same kind of thing as Runna, it sends daily run workouts to my Connect Calender which syncs to my watch. And the plan evolves and updates over time, based on many factors).
Problem 1:
When the plan is updated, my Connect calendar gets updated with the new workouts, the old ones get removed, all good, **but this does not accurately sync to my watch**. My new / fresh workouts are there, under my scheduled workouts, but the old ones have NOT been deleted!
Workaround, but not ideal:
Workouts are named with a version number included, so I can go and manually delete the outdated ones (which are now under "My Workouts" and no longer under scheduled).
Problem 2:
I'm doing this every week. Discovered the hard way there's a cap on number of custom workouts you can have on your watch at a given time (this applies to many models, not just the 970 - 25 custom workouts limit - this is documented in Garmin's Custom Workouts section under the Garmin Connect App support).
Problem 3:
One of those little annoying FR970 bugs means that if I try to delete too quickly, the watch will freeze and reboot (happened more than once, it was not a fluke, definitely a bug, and I'm not on Beta nor do I want to be)!! So I have to be slow and steady in going through the delete sequence for up to 2 weeks of obsolete workouts, one workout at a time. There's no bulk delete option on the watch (or is there??). And I cannot connect to my computer and delete from the watch file system because my watch no longer appears as an external drive! Thanks Apple... (Yeah I have a mac)
Any tips appreciated! Thank you!
Editing to add:
When I open Connect on the web and check the Workouts page, the obsolete workouts are gone from my Connect Workouts. They are gone from my Connect Calendar. But they remain behind on my watch, even days afterwards (today again deleted obsolete workouts that were originally scheduled for last week, got updated, the updated workouts were actioned/run, and still the obsolete ones remained)
