Garmin Forerunner 970 incorrectly prompts to enable battery saver mode.

I just received my FR970 on December 15th. It has been updated to 15.33. Except for some transfers from my FR955, it's in the original system configuration. In particular, Low Battery Alert is off.

The watch regularly prompts to enable power saver mode. Typically, a few times a day for random percentages (98%, 84%, 48%, apparently the number 8 causes it. ;-)).

This issue was raised 4 months ago - Battery Saver Prompt after Update to 12.70 - Forerunner 970 - Running/Multisport - Garmin Forums - without apparent resolution.

Why is my FR970 prompting to enable battery saver when that functionality is turned off, and the watch has plenty of juice?!?

Can you confirm if you are seeing battery saver or power save? Battery saver will ask a yes or no question to enable and power save should display a countdown.

It’s Battery Saver with a green check and a red trash can for the yes and no.

p.s., it happened again this morning with 80%. So, consistent with the number 8. Also, I believe it’s usually after an activity. This morning it was after a strength workout.

Can you try connecting the watch via computer and syncing with Garmin Express. This puts the watch through a soft reset and may resolve the battery saver being triggered to want to enable.

How Do I Install Garmin Express Software?

I’ve already done that twice over the past 1-1/2 weeks. Initially after I received it and a week later after I flew home for the holidays

This morning it happened 3 times, 77%, 76%, and 70%, Each time it was after starting and completing or canceling an activity.

First time was an attempt to get a GPS connection via a Run activity, but I stopped that activity without completing it because of a poor signal inside my hotel room. Then twice more, including after completing a 3-mile run.

So, it is an issue with activities, either completed or cancelled Right after I clear the post run activity data display, returning to the time display, or similarly when I cancelled an activity, returning to the time display
