Have had my Forerunner 970 just over 12 weeks now. Very disappointed in the stability of it, especially given it is supposed to one of the more high end watches. Have had a number of issues (inconsistent elevation gain figures for the same run, optical HR recording errors, ..). However, the currently most annoying problems is that the watch is now frequently disconnecting from my phone (Galaxy S22U). This has become particularly bad over the last few weeks, now happening multiple times a day.
Garmin Connect Home screen just displays a photo of a couple of runners and a message saying "Add a Garmin device to start viewing your health and fitness data", with an "Add Device" button below. Don't recall ever seeing that in the first 8 weeks or so though I was somethings getting a message on my phone during workouts saying I had 'left my phone behind" despite it being in my running belt, about 8 inches from my watch!
However, this latest problem is really starting to be annoying. Having to reconnect my watch to my phone several times plus a day, going through the whole palaver of setting up a 'new watch', then receiving "Thanks for registering your Forerunner 970" emails each time. And now this morning, I've tried half a dozen times going through the process. Gets to "Completing setup of your Forerunner 970 device', then after sometime get at "Pairing failed", "Setup was not successful" message. This last bit I have only encountered in the last two days, so it seems to be getting worse.
Anyone else experienced this problem?
