Garmin 970 Map Manager

I have been getting an error messages since the last update to 15.16. I've gone to Garmin express to apply any updates so will see if that resolves this.

I noticed I have 3 golf maps listed in map manager. I never golf and would like to remove them but do not see an option. I tried the watch and on the Garmin Connect app

Error Message

"cannot unlock Maps

gmapbmap.img"

You cannot remove them. For some reason they are necessary.

I had the same problem and deleted the files generating error manually from the watch via the file system.
All golf maps had error of some reason.
After the maps have been removed it worked fine again and the golf maps could be added, and removed again via Garmin Express. The golf maps are not needed.
