forerunner 970 average stress calculation wrong

Hello,

I noticed quite a variation when I take a look at the average daily stress. If I check it 3-4 times for 1 hour it varies a lot and is different than the garmin connect. I guess there is some wrong calculation or not taking into account all the daily samples but the most recent ones. Have you noticed something similar ? I had this issue after some updates on my fenix 7s also .

  • Which screen on the watch are you using to see "average daily stress"? If you use the first screen of the stress glance, it shows your current stress level, not daily average, so it naturally varies a lot. The second screen (which shows also division into rest, low, medium, and high stress) shows the daily average so far. If that number also changes a lot within an hour, then something really strange is going on with your watch.

  • It's the second screen but that is also happening on my Fenix, it differs from the garmin connect app average value

  • its happening also with last firmware in Epix Pro 2, its a software issue, i went back to older firmware

  • The 970 has always done this to me from day 1. I'll go into the stress screen that shows current stress, then up to view average daily and it can change as much as 10 points within an hour. This typically happens at the end of the day. Yesterday I was showing 46 average around 9pm, then by 9:30 it had dropped to 36 average. I haven't noticed that it corrects itself until the last 2-3 hours of the day.

It seems like earlier in the day it might be calculating your average based on future stress maybe?? Then by the last couple hours of the day if you haven't had the stress it thought you'd have it corrects the average, maybe?? :) My fr955 did not do this, it stayed correct all day long.
