I received and downloaded a firmware update today which was not shown as a notification but only when I was looking through settings. I've downloaded and installed it but saw no firmware version increment or change in features. Can anyone explain this?
I read a post from a few hours ago suggesting it may be related to lactate threshold upgrades and notification. It would be excellent news if true as I haven't had any automated lactate threshold updates since moving from my old FR255 to this FR970.
In addition, I've retired my old Garmin Dual chest strap in favour of an arm HR monitor and wondered if that may me the reason. I thought that lactate threshold no longer required the chest strap and have tested with wrist HR monitor as well as my (Coros) arm HR monitor without success.
And yes, I've enabled automatic HRmax and LTHR monitoring with varied intensity runs for long enough periods to trigger lactate threshold changes.
