Playing music from 970 on bluetooth headphones, constant lag

Hello everyone

I own the Forerunner 970 for 2 months now, comming from an Apple Watch.

The main reason for changing watches was to get better insights in running stats.

I run without a smartphone, only the watch which brings me to this forum.

Ever since I own the watch the music is super laggy and choppy (after a few minutes), looks like the headphones need to search for BT connection all the time.

I tried a few things already but nothing seems to work:..

- Turn off Wifi on the watch

- Updated to the stable 12.70 update

- Updating firmware on headphones

- Trying different headphones (I tried 5 different brands)

- Wearing the watch on the right side wrist

- Re-pairing the headphones to bluetooth

- Headdphones are only paired to 1 device (Forerunner 970)

- ...

It is mind blowing that a 750 euro watch isn't able to play some music while running, without it cutting out.

Anyone have a working fix for this?

@ GARMIN, you really need to fix this.

Thanks in advance.

  • same here, it's a complete mess this watch again . It's not the first watch that Garmin sells for horrific price and is not able for a stupi.. bluetooth connection . Its so frustrating , and its no way the headphones ,many many people hace that problem and also with other models . I had that problem with other fenix models too.. and now the new 970 start again . this is hardware related , don't hope for a fix . they will never fix it . I hoped 2 years onbmy fenix tp find a solution!! . i have even some headphones , just recognize then add and when i want to switch to headphone it not even connects , but 1s before it said connected .. And many many other problems again . like freezing , or 20sec. late pace update HR not updating aso aso . I am back to my Epix Pro gen2 again . headphones are all working on that watch , just a big watch to use for the whole day.  Forerunner 970 is a completly useless watch , only nice screen colors otherwise a big piece of *** again from Garmin . i wished i could get my money back for this big lying company !  and by the way *** talking youtubers like @dcrainmaker should be responsible for the biggest lyiers for garmin watches too.
