How to change an exercise in the strength workout on the fly?

I'm testing a switch from smartphone gym apps to a Garmin watch.

I’m wondering if there’s a way (or at least a workaround) to replace an exercise in a pre-planned strength workout.

For me, this is a very common situation. For example, if there’s no barbell available for barbell rows, instead of waiting and wasting time I’ll switch to dumbbell rows. This basically happens almost every session. I understand that it’s possible to skip an exercise and then do another one, but that often breaks the whole structure of the workout when I’ve planned the exercises in a specific order.

    You can't replace an exercise. You can only change the order of your sets by skipping the set and coming back to it later or not doing it at all. Otherwise, you could make a mental note of the change or use a note taking app on your phone, then change it later in Garmin Connect.
