Hi everyone,
I'm encountering an issue with my new Garmin Forerunner 970. Whenever I run on a track, the device automatically detects that I'm on a track and switches to Track Run mode, even though I start my session as a regular run activity. Since I tend to run off-lanes with laps of 500 meters, this automatic switch causes me to inaccurately log about 1.6 km less in a 20 km run because I have to select a specific lane on the watch (and I choose lane 9).
On my Garmin MARQ Athlete Gen 2, this issue never occurred. When I selected a standard running activity, it wouldn't automatically switch to Track Run just because I was on a track. The GPS would then successfully capture my laps in that mode.
How can I disable or bypass the auto-detect track option on the Forerunner 970? Any advice or solutions would be greatly appreciated.
Additionally, these running activities are activities suggested from the calendar. I'm not sure if that might be contributing to the issue, but I wanted to mention it just in case.
Thank you all,
Nikos
