Microphone volume

I have been struggling to get the Voice Assitant working, the calls never really worked for me, and with the voice notes in the beta, well that is a cluster too.

I am wondering if there is a hardware issue with my microphone, is there a way to tell how well the microphone is working?

If you make a call via your watch, can the other person hear you easily?

I tried to record voice notes but they are all silent even if I scream ... Also voice assistant not working anymore. I used it in the past regularly to set a timer for 10 minutes and it worked. Now it at best opens up the timer dialog to set a timer but mostly just returns to watch screen :( either the betas introduced a bug or the microphone got a hardware issue.

I used it also for swimming but even after cleaning the watch and wait 24-48 hours after cleaning it's not getting better and working :(

Any comments on this Garmin-Maeve ?

Are our microphones duds? Or is it a model failing?
