Please send a crash report to the Stryd Support. They may need to provide an update to the Stryd Zones Datafield?
I also have some version of this problem. On my 255 sometimes the pod would disconnect, the field would say "saerching" and then it would reconnect after a few seconds and all would be well.
But on the 970 it seems that the Stryd data field freezes though the other data screens still work. I cannot verify this is a pod disconnection issue but that seems likely to me.
I'm in a conversation with Stryd support and so far they have not suggested anything except reinstalling the data field, which didn't help.

I have been experiencing the same issue. Stryd support suggesting reinstalling the StrydZones data field. This did seem to work at first
My initial investigations found a link to whenever Garmin delivered a firmware update. However today this issue has occurred again - and no firmware update. The only change was that I charged one of my pods last night.
So I don’t know if it is a pod related issue or watch issue.
