Hardware ghost touch fix using software?

I got the 970 and it had a massive ghost touch issue. I returned it and got the new one.

the new one is working fine, since 3 weeks i haven’t experienced any ghost touch issues.

so i thought it might be some hardware issue.

but now with 9.18 garmin claims the software fixes the ghost touch?

how would a software fix the hardware issue?

I Have seen many people returning the watch due to ghost touch.

this seems very bad to me, a manufacturing defect is supressed by a software. This already makes the device very unreliable and undurable.

i am no expert but this doesn’t look right.
