Software Version 6.18 has made using my 970 pretty awful

I installed the update, even though I was facing very few issues, but now Software Version 6.18 has negatively affected my watch. I've tried restarting it multiple times, and the first indicator that something isn't right is when I turn it on and type in the PIN code and it freezes after typing in the last digit (for about 5s). When I try and scroll down through the glances, there's a 2-3 second delay, and it freezes at times. I'm tempted to try the beta software to see if there's an improvement because this is a pretty poor experience. I've uploaded a video here

There is no beta software yet. Always make sure you do a soft reset of your watch after a software update.

Thanks for the response and for informing me about the beta software. I've done multiple soft resets now, and it's still super laggy.

I'm experiencing similar lag issues after updating to Software Version 6.18, which I installed within the last 6 hours. My custom watch face from the IQ store, which previously worked flawlessly, is now noticeably affected.

Just a quick update that fixed the lag when scrolling through glances: reorder them or try deleting a few. It’s now working normal for me

After the update the download of HR data from chest strap result in a never ending story until I cancel the download. Today I was out for a run… Pace 0:00 59:59 and something in between… distance of my run ~2km and on the watch 400m. The FR970 is an expensive watch with again a buggy software… the same has happened 2019 when I bought the FR945. I don‘t understand why a company like garmin has that bad software quality…

After the latest update, the ghost touch issue on my watch seems to be resolved — which is great news. However, I'm now experiencing a noticeable lag when navigating menus and selecting options. The overall responsiveness has dropped, which impacts usability.

In addition, I’ve been seeing some inconsistencies in the monitoring data. Since switching from the FR 265, my HRV readings have been significantly lower than usual, raising doubts about their accuracy. It’s unclear whether this is related to the device itself or actual changes in my condition.

I've also noticed that treadmill run data is less reliable. While my FR 265 used to closely match the treadmill’s pace and distance without needing calibration, the watch often shows larger discrepancies, requiring me to calibrate after almost every session.

These issues make it harder to fully trust the data, which is frustrating when training and recovery decisions rely on accurate measurements.
