Today, I tested the Timing Gate feature on my Forerunner 970. I created a 5.7 km course with Auto Lap by Timing Gates enabled and sent it to the watch. On the watch, the Auto Lap setting under running activities was set to Auto Select by default.
However, after completing the run using the course I created, the total recorded distance was only 1.72 km. This result is quite strange and unexpected.
