intensity minutes not being logged

FR970 - was logging intensity minutes correctly - then from one day to the next, it doesnt log them anymore. The goal is set in the app etc. It should work, but simply doesn't.

Any fix?

This together with the voice assistant bug - starting to get anyoying for such an expensive device....

  • Some issue here regarding wrong intensity minutes. In the beginning it was doing fine, but from one dat to the other the intensity minutes are way off. Doing slow runs in zone 1, Connect was showing light (zone 2) and vigorous (zone 3) intensity minutes. I use the HRM600, and during the run my 970 was showing heartrates in Z1.

    See my post: https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/running-multisport/f/forerunner-970/415655/weird-intensity-minutes

Last saturday my 970 rebooted after a bike activity. I had to reinstall my watch again and the intensity minutes seemed ok again, or rather more correct.

But yesterday I did a slow 58 minute run with 48 minutes in Z1 and 2 minutes in Z2. Connct "gave" me 3 light minutes (what should have been 48), and 54 minutes vigourus (which I didn't had according to the 970).

So I think that there is a bug somewhere in the 970 software/firmware.

There are bugs galore in firmware version 6.17 . It’s been one month since this was released and still no update on the next one.  See other topics on the forum. Thumbsup

  • I made another discovery yesterday. Again I did an easy run. This time not wearing the HRM600, but only my 970. Heartrate monitoring was off at the start, but after tightening the strap, the HR was equal to the HR displayed on my Apple Watch Ultra 2.

Because of the HR issues at the start, the run showed 3 minutes of Z2 in Connect. All others HR where Z1.

In the connect app, when looking at the details, I had no activity minutes. Which makes sense because it was a Z1 run.
