Need a way to turn off adaptive (auto) brightness

As mentioned in the Fenix 8 forum, the FR970's adaptive brightness is inconsistent; I want a consistent brightness that is NOT sensitive to ambient light.

Why would you remove the ability to disable adaptive brightness?

Garmin, PLEASE make this a setting; some of us want a constant brightness setting, WITHOUT responding to ambient light.

Fully agree. Not sure why this was removed in their UI redesign.

Also more than 3 auto-brightness options would be great. Even the lowest setting is unnecessary bright for me when using the watch indoors…

I agree - the steps between brightness levels are too big; we need more fine-grained control.

I think that Garmin believes that dumbing down their user interfaces makes things easier for their users or something like that. Or perhaps it makes things easier for them, because it makes their code less complex to fix?
