Forerunner 970 suffers from the exact same "unreadably dim in dark rooms" issue the Fenix 8 had ten months ago.

Garmin locked that huge thread, declared it a feature vs a bug, and now they've introduced the same problem into the Forerunner 970.

The "remediation" for the Fenix is to press the light button to temporarily un-dim the watch. The 970, as far as I know, has no light button.

What am I missing here? Why is Garmin pushing default unreadability so hard?
