Load Focus, Training Load (Acute Load & Load Ratio) measurements on Garmin Connect App is different from FR970

I having the above issue.

The Garmin Connect App is not updating these measurements from the FR970.

FR970 is showing the current measurements and is correct from the activities I have been doing but the App is not updating it.

I have tried closing and opening the app and re-syncing with the watch but no success to keep it both sync correctly.

Thus, the app is showing me Training Status as ‘detraining’ (VO2 max numbers are sync but load is 0 across) and my watch Training Status is ‘no status’ (V02 Max - no trend, HRV- no trend, Acute Load - high). I just got the watch 2 days ago. I understand V02 Max and HRV needs more data before it is calculated but not the Acute Load which should be synced)

Hope this makes sense.

  • I am having the exact same issue

I tried un-pairing the watch, deleting the connect app and starting my set-up all over, nothing seems to help.

These data points are up to date on the watch but NOT on garmin connect.

To be honest, also think training load is not updating as accurately as it was ob my FR 255 but might just be related to the fact that this is a new watch.

Would be really good if Garmin took care of that, hugely disappointed to experience this with the top Forerunner line.

  • Having the exact same issue.

Tried uninstalling app, repairing watch several times, one time, it actually showed the right figures but after 1 workout, watch was up to date for training load, chronic load, etc.... and app went back to 0 load and de-training.

Never faced this issue wit my old FR 255 nor my old FR 735XT, hugely disappointed to be experiencing this with a top of the line model....

Hope this gets sorted out ASAP by Garmin.

  • Hi, thanks for your reply. The problem is still persisting. I only had the Exercise Load page synced, the Load Focus page and Training Load page never got updated. It only works for 3 days 18-20 June, after I got my watch. After that the load numbers are all flat until now. Was there a GC app update on the 20th?

  • Because of this missing load numbers, the GC connect app Training Status is showing ‘Detraining’. Meanwhile my watch Training Status is ‘Productive’. Hope Garmin can solve this asap. Definitely, there is nothing wrong with the watch end, but rather GC end issue.

  • For what it's worth, turned off the watch, unpaired it, deleted garmin connect app.

Redid the set-up from inception yesterday, this time did not use the QR code to pair the watch but used the 'normal' method.

It seems it's working right now, it does not show de-training and 0 on the app. Will monitor over the next 3 days and let you know.
