Custom alerts in run workout

I'm not recieving custom alerts (a reminder to eat at 30mins) on a run. I have set up the alert on the watch, turned it on and everything appears good but no alert happens. Research appears to show issues with alerts in workouts (this run workout is sent from Runna) but having looked I cannot find a solution. Can anyone assist? If I have a run workout sent to my watch, is there a workaround to get alerts? Thanks

I have a similar problem. For some of my workouts I set a target pace range. In my 955 it would beep (both on the watch and via my earphones) if I’m outside this range. The 970 does not give any indication at all. For Zone 2 training I set a max HR alert and again it doesn’t alert at all for the 970 but worked fine in my old 955.

I’ve checked Focus Modes > Activity > Voice Alerts and it’s turned on for both Workout Alerts and Activity Alerts. So not sure what I’m missing.

I have the opposite issue, I have no alerts but every half hour I get a drink alert

Killian_Byrne according to our Support Center ( Not Receiving Custom Alerts During Workouts) you will not receive custom alerts during a guided workout:

"Alerts that you have set for a structured workout have precedence over custom alerts set on the device. When you are using the workout feature, any custom alerts you have created, such as eating, drinking, or a proximity alert, that are not part of the workout will not occur. Once you have stopped the workout, and either discarded or saved the activity, your custom alerts will resume as normal. "
