As per the subject every time I do a run I get a new Longest run and fastest mile notification at the end.
This despite going slower and less distance.
Its as if the watch resets it's memory every time.
Anyone else got this?

Yes, I have that too. It looks like the values are reset after every Firmware update. However, I also had this behavior with the Fenix 7 pro
I have it happen to me when I get a new watch. I think they are stored locally. Firmware updates haven't caused me to have the records reset
It's counter-intuitive (to me), but I think you have to accept the corresponding PR in Connect for each distance to make the watch stop doing that.

NOTE: If you have not accepted a PR in Garmin Connect or if the particular PR is hidden, your device will continue to notify you of new PRs until one is accepted. To resolve this, you would need to make the PR visible and either accept or reject the automatically detected PR activity. If you know of a PR activity, you can also assign it manually. Once you have accepted or assigned the PR, that information syncs to your device so it can accurately notify you when a new PR has been achieved.
To me the fact that the PR support article has a special note about this behaviour proves my point that it's not intuitive, especially since you only have to manually accept a PR once for any given distance.
This is very helpful, thanks. Because I also get a fastest & longest run, fastest 5k & 10k, etc after every run since I got this watch when the 965 was released. Over time became annoying.
