Stryd and Core ConnectIQ Data Fields Compatible?

On the 965, there is an issue with the amount of data the Stryd and Core write to the fit file and it causes the Stryd data field to crash unless you change the default settings for the Core data field to not write the charts to the file (i.e., code 32).

Core has said this is a limitation of the 965 and I'm wondering if the issue is resolved on the 970.  Has anyone been able to use the Stryd and Core data fields simultaneously?

  • Hi,

the Stryd Data Field works fine! No problems.

  • Thanks - I assume that by themselves the Stryd data field and the Core data field work just fine on the 970.  The issue on the 965 is using both data fields at the same time in the same activity.

  • I also had the Core Sensor for a while and encountered the same problem when using the Core data field at the same time as the Stryd data field. But Core has defined a setting for this (as you already discribed), which you can enter and then it works perfectly. Core has already released the data field for the 970. In this respect, I think it will work similarly to the 965.

  • Hello,

the Stryd Data field stopped working when I added the Core data field on the FR970...

plus I am having some problems with the discrepancy of power readings shown on the Stryd data field and the Garmin Power Gauge while executing a Power targeted workout although I set the Running Power source from accessory (which should be only from Stryd).

  • Hi discribed you need to put the code 32 in the settings of the Core Datafield. Then Stryd and Core should work together.

Regarding power: When you put the source for the power to "frim accessory" this means, that the power comes from your HRM. The watch never will take it directly from Stryd. The power from the watch or the HRM will always be higher than from Stryd.

If you only want the power from Stryd, set the setting in the Watch to "off".

  • Thank you this was very helpful.

  • Was anyone able to make it work?

I have Fenix 8 and all Datafields are crashing a few minutes into an activity when I have both Stryd Zones and Core Body fields on the screen. I tried to set the Core field to 32 but it does not help solve the problem.

The only solution is to set it to 256 which means that no data are recorded into the FIT file...

  • using the Code 32 on Core Datafield settings worked well on the FR970.

Although the Core Temperature curve is not showing any more on Garmin Connect, I am able to get it on Intervals.ICU and Runalyze
