Unable to pair 970 to Sole F85 Treadmill

My FR 965 pairs just fine with the Sole F85.  The 970 connection times out.


Note that on the 965 the pairing succeeds in 2 seconds even though I'm on the "Scan QR" screen.  On the 970 it fails after about 5-7 seconds.

  • Same issue for me but with the Sole F80 and FR970. Would really like to get them connected. Can't even find instructions in the manual. Not sure if it should be added as a "phone" or as a "sensor & accessory". 

  • It's not a garmin problem but a Sole problem.  More people need to call them to get them to update their firmware: Phone: 866-780-7653.  I had e-mailed Sole Customer Service, not Techincal Support, and someone sent me a screenshot of an excel spreadsheet which showed their model support across all their treadmills stopped at the 965.  In the interim, I now just keep my 965 at the TM for my indoor woorkouts.
