Having trouble with 970 getting text messages from iPhone, though FB Messenger and other apps deliver to watch just fine.

Have struggled with where the issue is.

Notifications on phone are set to Announce ON, Show Previews: Always, looking at Apps, Messages are enabled (per app)

Watch is set to Smart Notifications ON. Notification Center: ON

The Phone is NOT in any focus mode.

Not sure where to look next. This is the wife's new 970

I have a Fenix 8 and it works just fine with text messages. Not seeing any obvious setting difference between the two setups. Besides one being 970 and the other F8

Found a solution: the text chat was muted. Once unmuted, it started working.

Some additional thoughts:

if it's not working: note that if you are sending a text to the iphone connected to the watch, and you are viewing the chat the message is being sent to, new texts will likely NOT end up in the notification manager (i.e. pop up), and won't show up on the watch. So don't be looking at the message as it comes in. Either open another message chain or close message altogether.
