Forerunner 970 always on display doesn't work

I have 2 bugs with the screen on the Forerunner 970.

The Always on display can't be enabled, it's greyed out on the watch settings and also in Garmin Connect.

The other bug I have which is annoying is that the screen doesn't turn on when I turn my wrist, but the setting for it is turned on.

Gesture thingy you mention, Try a software Reinstall.

It helped someone else having an issue

Settings , About , press light 8 times , select software reinstall

That worked!! For both my problems The gesture issue and always on display are both enabled now by reinstalling the software. Thanks!!

Gesture thingy you mention, Try a software Reinstall.

Thanks for the advice. On my device it did not help. I still get 88% of the times a very dark unreadable display. I do see there is text there. But comparing to the 12% of the time I do get a display that light up I understand something is wrong.
