Can not add course to event

If it’s a public event that you searched for in Garmin connect, eg is sourced from Ahotu, then you cannot add a course. To add a course you need to create your own copy of the event.

This has never made sense to me. I mostly do trail runs and the elevation plays a significant factor in estimating completion time.

Plus if you have the course then on race day you just get to click that you’re doing it and you don’t have to search.

No that’s not the issue, I don’t even have the option to add a course, the course is a Garmin course from its map, I could always use these courses, just save them to my device, I know I use to have to covert a Ride with GPS course to a Garmin course to use a course from that platform, but that was a simple press of a button to convert, that feature seems to be missing also, I suspect that is why the course was not showing up on my IPhone, so I found the course on Garmin connect, but still no option to add a Garmin course on laptop and course not showing up on iPhone
