Forerunner 965 with Favera Assioma Duo only half power?

Running a Schwinn Indoor bike with Assioma Duo. While all data is transmitted correctly via bluetooth to the Zwift app, the connection to my Forerunner 965 via Ant+ only shows half of the power.  Correct (verified) power is 300 Watt, but on Forerunner only 150 Watt is shown. Anyone encountered the same issue?

  • i assume one of the pedal (the right one) is not working . did you check it with Assioma app, both are good and alive? (same firmware in both, the most recent one, 6.12 )

  • Yes I did, both same firmware, both alive. Pedaling with one leg on left side is 65 Watt, doing the same on the right side is 65 Watt too, then pedaling same pace both legs with approx same power (based on feeling) on each leg is still 65 watt… clueless

  • so the leg balance in the fit file 50/50?

  • Yes, 100% when pedalling left or right only and 50-50 when pedalling with both legs.

  • for me it is working good. if the spinbike is set for a given resistance, it will be 65w with left leg only, 65w right leg only, and 65w for both leg. or do You have any other reference power meter (i assume this schwimm is a dumb spinbike, not a fancy one with some kind of power estimation or real power measurement, right?)

  • It’s not totally thumb, it has a simple screen showing rpm, resistance level, calories consumption etc. I got values from the internet as reference to compare. Calories burned matches between Zwift and Schwinn quite well, but on Forerunner only half…. I contacted Favera support now , let’s see what they tell me…

  • ah so have a sheet from internet that resistance 1 with yyy rpm is xxx watts with this type of spinbike and the Duo's measurement is much lower?! usually these estimations are far off, even if the device is totally brand new and assembled correctly in the factory. but You wrote that You connect the Assioma via BT to the Zwift and using real power as a method to ride virtually (and not selecting a spinbike or old trainer from the list as speed-based), i dont remember how calculate the zwift the calories but there are 2 types: with BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) or without, if without then the kcal=kj , so if You pedal 65w for 1hour that is 234kj=234kcal, if with BMR, that can be much higher (with this very low power output, with 300w the difference between the 2 methods are much less in percentage)

  • GO TO FAVERO APP IN YOUR PHONE.. CONNECT YOUR PEDALS.. IN THE SETTINGS YOU WILL SEE AN OPTION THAT CHANGES THE CONNECTION FROM ONLY LEFT (WITH BOTH CHANNELS) AND LEFT AND RIGHT AS DIFFERENT UNIT. TRY TO CHANGE THAT.
ACTUALY IT IS FOR BLUETHOOTH CONNECTION ONLY, BUT GIVE IT A TRY.
IF ANYTHING WORKS CONTACT FAVERO AND THEY CAN TRY TO FIX IT. I HAD A FRIEND DURING LOCKDOWN COVID THAT HAD THE SAME INSUE.

  • Thanks for the hint. I know this option and I already tried both ways. Did not work either. I'm waiting for feedback of Favero now

  • it is not the same issue. i think the estimated power values are very high, at least, usually these indoor devices are very inaccurate.

silly question, but the crank length setting is good in the favero app and in the garmin watch also? did you make manual calibration after installation, and after it regularly, the best imho before every ride ( i know, it has autocalibration, but the auto things are never perfect)
