Voice Prompts Priority Over Other Bluetooth Device?

I do some of my runs at home on a treadmill. Have BT headphones with mult-point capabilities, so I can connect to both my watch any my AppleTV or iPad to watch streaming content while I run. If I start the run on my watch, I get a voice prompt like normal. But, once I start streaming on the AppleTV or iPad, I no longer receive the voice prompts even though both devices are still connected.

My hope was that the voice prompts would play over the streaming device, or, even better, the streaming volume would pause or lower briefly while the prompt plays. This is how it works when I have my headphones connected to my phone and watch at the same time (streaming Spotify from the phone), but I can't seem to get similar results from AppleTV or iPad.

Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Not exactly what you're looking for, but if you install Connect on your iPad and open it while you're streaming on the iPad, you should get voice prompts through Connect. (Maybe this is actually what happens when you get prompts while streaming on your phone? It could explain the discrepancy.)

As far as Apple TV streaming goes maybe the solution there is to connect to both your Apple TV and phone (or iPad) and hope that you'll get the voice prompts from Connect on the phone or iPad in that case, as well.
