forerunner 965: BMX:0.0.0(!), wireless status:0, sensor hub:0.01, whr:0.00.00

from one week ago, my forerunner 965 doesn't work properly, Several sensors, like heart rate, altimeter, podometer..they don't work properly. I tried to fix it through a hard reset, but nothing, the bug still there I've contacted with Garmin and the solution that they gives me it to send my device to garmin support. it seems that it's an sofware update. the problem is that I've a race in three weeks and garmin support gives a minimun of 12 working days to fix my watch, and i don't want to run my target year race without my watch. Did anyone the same problem? how did you resolve it? any way to resolve it without sending my watch to garmin support?

    1) Garmin does not repair. Garmin replaces devices with a new or refurbished device.
    2) Have you explained the urgency to support? In some countries (e.g. also in my home country Germany) there is the possibility to have a replacement device sent directly against payment of a deposit. Once you have received the device, you send the defective device to Garmin and get the deposit back.
    3) Connect the watch to the computer and see if Express wants to install updates. This would be the last chance to possibly fix the problem yourself.

  • Alternatively, you can roll back the firmware version, although this rollback procedure is still not “legal” by Garmin for the Forerunner series.
    There have been several threads, posts, and links to firmware here.
    With these firmware errors, it's your “best” option to exchange your watch for a new one from an authorized representative, having first gotten a decision to replace the watch.

  • Thanks for your response. Yes, I explained them my situation, but the procedure is to send my watch to them, they will evaluate the issue (for that they have 12 working days) and response me back. 

    I've also tried to update my watch through Garmin Express but without results, my watch is updated. 

    I'll connect with garmin support again. thanks!!

  • Try this "hidden" option (if it exists in your firmware version?):

    Go into settings - system - about

    Press the light button (upper left) 8 times, then select "reinstall software"

  • Thanks for your response. I also tried that .. but the firmware version still the same. Even I tried to fix it through beta program, you know updating firmware version through beta program .. but nothing.  it seems that the only way is the replace the watch.
