Compatibility with Erg IQ

I am a runner embarking on my HYROX journey. How would I la k the c2 ski erg to my  garmin fr 965. The erg is app says the watch is not compatible. When it are there plans to make this “premium” watch compatible, or is there another way to monitor my ski erg training?

  • lak = link

    is = iQ

    it = or

    apologies for the typos

  • My 965 connects to my C2 Row Erg PM5 as a Smart Trainer. G Connect shows Rower SPM, Power, Pace and Meters.

    The Bike Erg also connects as a Smart Trainer plus a Cadence sensor and Power meter. G Connect shows all the bike data.

    When I use the Ski Erg the 965 pops up an offer to connect as a Smart Trainer. I have not done it, but it should work the same as the rower and bike.

    I'm always sure to FIRST connect to the Erg Data app on the iPad by turning on the PM5 before I select the Activity on the 965.

    The Ski Erg is kind of rare so I'd suggest search/ask how to connect the Rower PM5

  • The ErgIQ is not a garmin app, and the developer seemed to have stopped updating it. The best way to get some Erg data into connect is to link logbook of concept2 and use ErgData with your smartphone. Then it will send some data into connect, even though the garmin does not have Erg category to log the exercise correctly.

  • The 965 connection to the Row/ Ski Erg is via the PM5 so any App in use does not matter.

    IMO iPad the App needs to connect using Bluetooth so I do that first, then I select the 965 Row Activity and the 965 connects using ANT+.

    Using the Concept 2 Logbook connection to Garmin has a disadvantage that the Activity is not from a Garmin watch so does not count towards badges or maybe some other things.

    Using a Smart Trainer "sensor" connection is the best way, as long as you have a PM5.

  • Smart trainer connection works for C2 RowErg, but not for SkiErg. Atleast for the ones I've tested. I've also checked the sw versions in the skiergs and have got them updated. (epix2pro, but I think its the same)

  • As a sensor does not work, for the rower is fine but since Garmin does not have a ski erg profile it does not read the data properly from it. It gets gibberish data only.

  • You could email Support @ Concept2

    They are a small company and I find to be very helpful. It works perfectly for the Row Erg and Bike Erg so they may be able to tell you how to make it work for the Ski Erg or fix it.

    On my Garmin I copied the Row activity to make one for the Skier.
