Incorrect gear (running shoe) assigned to activity

Do you mean you change the default shoe before an activity each time... wow that's dedication.

I have never tried that and I don't have any shoes set as default , to my mind its just easier to select the shoes at the end when looking at the activity afterwards.

A thought - Maybe it hasn't synced across all platforms before the activity was triggered and this the "link" isn't correct. Does it generally pick up the last shoe you had selected as default perhaps?  

Maybe just look at the timing of each step in your process and see if devices are all in sync before you even select the activity, never mind the start.

I forgot to mention it, but that's the second issue I'm having. Since the latest update, my phone and watch disconnect frequently.

I find it easier to select which shoe I'm using before a workout. I wasn't aware -until recently- that you could manually assign the shoe post workout. It's easier for me to assign it before the workout. That way I don't forgot to assign the miles to a particular shoe.

Regarding the disconnecting , when I've had issues i would do the following:

Delete the GC App from Phone

Delete the watch from the bluetooth settings on the phone

Restart both watch an phone

Reinstall GC app on phone and sign in to the app

Re-pair the watch 

The challenge I have with setting a default gear is that if I forget to change it then the wrong shoe gets allocated.

I have no default set so If i dont assign one, gear on the activity is blank.

That way I don't get incorrect miles added to a shoe if I forget to change the default.

I also tend to look at activity detail after it on Garmin connect so I add the shoe then.

As I also use Strava and Runalyze I have to add the shoes there manually also .. we do make life interesting don't we!
