I have the exact same problem since 2-3 updates:
It's very annoying. Garmin-Laurie this together with the screen lit up slowly makes this watch unfriendly.
I mean it's like a real lover, who cheats you many times, you forgive, but one day you throw it out on the window and never look back.
Yes, but this issue persist for other users as far as I saw. But, I'll check it with a builtin one today evening.

A lot of problems that I have "Reinstal Software" solved it...
For me, version 22.22 and now 22.24 is super and for now without any bugs.... for things that I us watch...
you dont have to reset-up anything doing the reinstall. It just does the software reinstall that is all.
Ive done it a few times and all the settings etc stay in place
