Map and courses issue

965 really acting up, not doing what it says on the tin, my map won’t auto zoom when navigating, use to be zoomed at 234m, now it’s on 7km, also when on the map screen I am getting cryptic directions, ( see photo) they use to be 76m left or 30m right, now I’m getting this rubbish.

How can I go back two updates?  none of this happing then.

  • also when on the map screen I am getting cryptic directions, ( see photo) they use to be 76m left or 30m right, now I’m getting this rubbish.

Your photo isn't showing directions, it's showing information about the point on the map under the crosshairs. Press BACK to get rid of the crosshairs and go back to normal usage of the map.

The crosshairs are displayed when you tap on the map (while the 3-line menu icon is already displayed) or if you select Pan/Zoom from the 3-line menu. When the crosshairs are on top of a location you're interested in, you can tap on the black info field at the bottom of the screen to save or navigate to the location.

About the auto zoom thing - that's probably a bug as many people have been complaining about auto zoom not working.

  • Ok thanks for clearing that up, ultimately the auto zoom is the issue, made a right mess of my ride on Friday, it was working fine, really has left the watch useless for navigating a course, too fiddly to change screens and start zooming in to track course, any way to leave the direction prompt on the screen until turn is taken or leave it on screen longer?

  • I had the same issue when following a route (gpx)… every couple of minuts it goes into the mode on your picture. Then you have to click back button end/or the X on the menu, to be able to see your location on the map again. Very frustrating!!!!

  • Is it possible you're experiencing unwanted / "phantom" touches on your touch screen?

What's your activity touch setting? On or Map Only? If it's Map Only, can you change it to On as a test and see if data fields start changing by themselves? If that happens, I would say you have an issue with phantom touches.

  • The setting is On when this happens,
