Assigning shoes from the watch at the end of activity

hi, Garmin

Why we still can't select shoes at the end of activity from the watch ? It's super easy do implement (  I've done it over the weekend, but you api is for business only...). Other brands like COROS does that. Why in 2025 we can't select which shoes were using during a run directly from the watch ? Why ? but we have a useless jet-lag advisor that 1 our of 1000 runners use....

Everyone who thinks this is a good idea, go here: https://www.garmin.com/en-US/forms/ideas/

Ages ago I had a sports watch that allowed to enter a comment after an activity, quite a chore with the button presses, but I made a system to input shoes, weather, location (was before GPS). May have been a Suunto, Polar or Nike. Really useful, but never saw it again.

  • yeah i've done that multiple times in past years ....

Afraid you'll have to keep doing that.. Garmin doesn't register ideas posted here, but it may help if you campaign here every now and again, asking everyone who is interested, to 'share the idea' again.

There are so many functions in Garmin devices, and everyone has their own ideas for new functions, it is bound to pile up and most ideas will snow under. It is a great service that there *is* a forum like this (Polar's is gone and Suunto's is much less lively), but the downside is the volume of wishes, complaints, ideas is probably quite unmanageable,

  • you can set a default shoe and have it added at the end every time automatically.

  • I want to use multiple pair of shoes depending on workout type.

  • I actually found a way to do that. It requires me to upload my runs to Strava and track shoes there and using activityfix.com where i can set rules like "If day == Wenesday" set shoes to XXX

I which i could simply do that via the watch after each run.
