Triangle of death - anything I can do?

Hi!

While scrolling through widgets watch resets.
This happens sometimes and I didn't mind, until this morning.
Now my 965 is in triangle of death mode, restarting all the time, just triangle is shown and then off.
Takes an hour now already.
Holding power/light button to shut it down doesn't work.
Connecting to PC doesn't change anything too, device not detected.

Is there anything I can do?

same here - I got the death triangle. Soft reset does not work, so I spent 2hours looking for the solution on the internet. Then I asked chatgpt to search for me - the beast found the forum in 5 secs (!!!)

hard reset worked (with the tip to release power button right after clicking on it)

Hard reset is a part of solution. You will get BTOD very soon, if you do not revert software from beta. See my manual on p2.

It's not just happening on the beta release - my 955 and my wife's 255 both have the BTOD issue and we're on 21.22. You can get the watch running again using the factory reset but as soon as you start ANY activity the watch crashes.

It appears that a corrupted update file is being uploaded to the watch. The watch does not need to be reset to factory settings and just force a connection to the computer. Usually the start button is held for 30 seconds when plugged into the PC. If the connection succeeds, just delete the contents of the Garmin/RemoteSW directory

Thanks, this worked for me. The only reset method that has! Now to remove the beta firmware (and set everything up again…)
