HRM Pro Plus switch to 965 when activity stopped

Hello

I use the HRM pro plus for most activities, I use my 965 as my cycling computer, when I stop my cycling activities my HR switches back to the watch straight away, the watch is on my handle bars, so I do not get any HR recordingCry, I like to get my HRR data after a cycle. Is there any way to keep my HR data coming from the HRM when I stop the activity but I am still wearing the HRM

am currently trying to get my watch back on my wrist asap, but it’s not a great way to keep an accurate HRR reading

Any help appreciated

Thanks

  • Try broadcasting the HR from the watch, my 965 in that situation is showing the HR from the strap. Also when I am not in an activity.

  • That's an interesting use case, probably Garmin didn't think of. Though I could argue that why do you stop the activity if you still continue to ride? Or why don't you start another activity (i.e: you finished your race, stop, save it, then start a bike commute activity)

It would be interesting to see if the HRM turns off (my guess is that as long as it's on your chest it will continue to broadcast , just the watch doesn't care) I have the opposite problem after running: for a long time I just popped off 1 of the 2 "buttons" of the Polar h10 when I finished the activity and I was walking home and I didn't want the polar to finish the battery. It seemed to have worked until about a year ago. Since then I need to pop off both buttons (take off the sensor from the strap and hope it'll not get lost) Interestingly the same is true when I get home: previously I took off the strap and put it on my desk with 1 leg ("button") disconnected. Nowadays if I check after a few minutes I can see the strap is still broadcasting (the nothingness it senses on the desk...) and only after totally disconnecting it from the strap it stops itself.
