Multi distance interval session

Is it possible to set a multi distance track session using this watch? Say I want to run a 2K followed by 6 x 800 and 4 x 400 do I have to use a stop watch to do this or can I set each distance and recovery into the watch. Thinking of buying one

  • You can make a custom workout for that. It's quite flexible to build all types of workouts with multiple sets etc

I create these on the Garmin Connect website for ease

  • This is how I use my watch when doing interval training on a track at my athletics club.

At the start of the training I press start.

First we do warmup and exercises.

    Lets say we do a 3 time 200 - 400 - 600 - 800 series with 200 walking pause in between.

At the start of an interval, I press lap. At the end of an interval I press lap.

At the end of the training, just press stop and save the activity

Now I get a lap for running 200/400/600 or 800 meter intensive and a lap for 200 meter recovery. If you look at garmin connect web interface, you can see it recognizes intervals and rest laps. Interval laps are interested to see if the time it took was what was expected, rest laps are interesting to look at how far your heart rate drops. (Stupid enough, garmin puts a gazillion metrics in the table of garmin connect, but not 1 of the more interesting lowest heart rate in a lap).
