Autodetected Nap within Sleep

Yesterday I slept from 11:49 pm to 7:15 am (Fri-Sat). 15 min before sleep I updated the upcoming sleep schedule to "11:45 pm to 7:00 am".

The sleep interval was recorded correctly. However, there was also recorded a 41 min nap starting at 11:49 pm on Friday. So there are two events started the same time: 41 min nap and 7+ hour sleep, which makes no sense and I guess it misleads the evaluated metrics (like body battery).

I faced similar behavior before, but I was able to just delete odd naps. This time I can’t, because this nap was registered for Friday, and Garmin doesn’t allow to delete naps on previous days.

Is it a bug? Or what do I do wrong?

Software version 20.29

  • Sounds like a bug, but not sure if other than looking strange it has any bad effect. Why do you think it affects the body battery?

  • At least this nap is listed in body battery factors. However, both nap and sleep are displayed without influence on body battery (no number next to them), which is not true - the sleep provided 33 points to body battery (according to the chart).

  • One more observation today. I slept from 12:43 am to 10:25 am, the sleep interval was registered correctly. But my watch also registered a nap from 11:45 pm to 12:21 am, while I was just watching series (not absolutely motionless of course).

So this looks just like misinterpretation due to similarity of these two activities. But yesterdays sleep record looks like a bug, because the nap was registered during the sleep which makes no sense.

The sad thing in both cases - is that I can’t delete this naps, because they are placed in activity logs on previous days.

  • This bug goes further. I went to bed at ~ 01:35 am, set up the sleep schedule to the interval of 01:40 - 09:00 for the weekdays, turned on alarms and sleep mode.

When I woke up there was no morning report suggestion which I usually use to recover the watch from sleeping state. So I did it from the sleep glance widget.

Then I received a morning report and saw there that body battery was boosted by napping. And I see the same case again: the watch registered a nap from 01:49 to 02:34 and a sleep from 01:49 to 08:39. The second time an unexpected nap overlaps the night sleep.

What’s new is that my latest changes in sleep schedule were reverted. Before sleep I set up 01:40-09:00 interval for weekdays, but now I see the values from the previous week.

Such stuff becomes annoying, to be honest

  • +1 more occurrence. A sleep from 11:33 PM to 8:59 AM. And a 38 min nap from 12:01 AM. FW 20.32
