Wahoo Power Pedals - Multisport Activities

I am using Wahoo Power Pedals with my Forerunner 965 and they connect fine for just normal cycling with no connection issues. However, the last 3 Duathlons that I have done the pedals have not connected to the watch automatically when in T1 and won't connect at all for the entire bike leg which is slightly annoying as I have used the pedals and watch combo 4 times in total and it is only the first time that it seemed to work fine. I haven't tried to manually connect mid race but the preparation includes connecting the pedals to the watch and calibrating in the carpark then connecting again just to check when setting up in transition by giving them a spin and everything appears normal. Is there a setting I have perhaps changed by accident on the watch? I thought it was maybe just bad lack the first time but 3 times in a row now seems odd especially as it worked initially without even thinking about it.

  • That's frustrating I bet!  I have the Wahoo power pedals (single sided) and I have never had issue with them being picked up but I haven't used for multisport.  Something about the 965 in multisport mode must be causing the issue?

  • I'm not sure. It only seems to happen on race day. I have auto discover and searching on for the wahoo pedals on the watch and when I try the multisport profile in the garage and switch through the stages to replicate a race and spin the pedals it automatically connects. It's a weird one. Even if it didn't connect straight away I'd expect it to find the pedals at some point on the bike leg at least. Maybe starting the multisport activity within range of the pedals and then going away and coming back is causing an issue and it only works in the garage because I'm always nearby. Weird

  • Why do you have auto discovery on? That’s only usefull for adding new sensors…

  • Sorry. Meant always searching
