My watch does download an update but wont install it

My watch is on 20.26

If I check for updates (since 20.29 is available) my watch says it finds and update, downloads an update and then says download complete.

After that nothing. No update is installed, and the watch is still on 20.26.

I can again check for updates, my watch finds an update and downloads it, but again nothing is installed.

Already tried a reboot, but that doesn’t help.

Same here. The "fake" update has been reported since a few weeks ago, and I am still seeing it too: I don't think it's connected with the 20.29 firmware. Regarding 20.29, it's still formally still in a "phased rollout" at 20%, so I think that what we are getting is still the fake update, and we will still have to wait for a few hours for 20.29 to be available to us.
