Recording steps

I wear my Garmin 965 forerunner when I play golf, it does not record my steps when pushing my golf trolley, also when I am pushing my granddaughter in the push chair, can this issue be resolved?

  • If you are not swimming your arms then it will not record steps. The watch uses your arm movement to track steps. A common issue wit strollers and similar items. A common solution is to move the watch to the other hand, use the other hand to pull your cart or wear your watch on your leg.

  • Thank you for your reply, I am frustrated having paid a lot of money for the watch that it can’t record the steps I have mentioned, I was able to do this on my Apple Watch. I appreciate your suggestion but I didn’t buy the watch to wear on my leg! There must be a way to remedy this issue as other devices are able to?

  • The Apple Watch use both your phone and an accelerometer to count steps so it’s not the same technology or process.

If you bought the watch to mainly count steps then I’m sorry to say you paid a lot for the wrong device.
