Are the walking metrics recorded under "run" activity profile the same as under "walk" activity profile?

Hi, in the run activity profile it differentiates when you walk and run, I wanted to ask whether the metrics recorded when you walk in the "run" activity profile are the same as under the "walk" activity profile. The reason I am asking is because my main form of exercise is speed walking, walking at a high pace, but under "walk" profile it is not possible to add pace alerts, that is possible under the "run" profile. I therefore keep using the "run" profile. I wonder whether my metrics get distorted in some way because of this and are less accurate.

  • Interesting to see this. Yesterday I was running and then stopped and started a walk. Whilst in the walk I decided to start running again. I was wondering what it would record and it doesn't record all the RD etc.   (not quite what you were asking but the other way around)  I think your solution makes sense.

I would copy the Run activity and change its name to Speed Walk (Just so you can have different screens for it vs running if necessary)

I have a number of running activity profiles for different things (quiet  - excludes segments, segment - includes segments etc) so one can easily choose one
