Why does my HR Recovery continually show just 11 beats. Total BS.

I measured, using one minute, the suggested time period, and it was 23 (very good).  I've now had my 965 for about three months and it always shows 11 beats.  After every run.  Does not make sense.  Can anyone explain?  I know they use two minutes (not sure why), but if I got 23 after one minutes...?  Disappointing.  BTW, I always use Garmin's chest strap for the better accuracy.

  • Do you ever choose the recovery hear rate option after the activity before doing the  saving?

  • Strange, I never really look at that... but looked at my last few activities and today was only a 5!?  Then noticed last couple were also 5?!?!  ... but then Saturdays long run was 30 something and before that was 40+.  I never purposefully standstill or rest for 2min after a run, also if I do a good cooldown vs not much of one... the number without consistency is kind of not useful.  This is not me selecting 'recovery HR' on the save menu, this is just the value showing up in my activity file on GC online.

The repeat at 5 for a few activities makes me think that is some sort of default or minimum?  for you maybe it is 11?  Not sure why it would be different.

  • I had that 11 for a while as well. I started using the actual HRR Option on the save screen before saving and after that it made more sense (even when I didn't use that option). I recall seeing somewhere on the forum a number of comments regarding the 11 issue.
