BUG: back key stops working when in activity settings

Hi all,

I have been experiencing the following bug with FW 19.18, but can't tell if it was present in earlier FWs: when selecting breathwork activity, then activity settings and then breathing technique - change technique, the back key of the watch stops working. I can start and end a breathwork activity and only this way get back to the activities menu to pick another one, but there is no way to exit the activities menu. Only solution: reboot. The bug has been 100% reproducible for me so far.

Would be great if someone could try to reproduce it and  please report this upstream.

Thanks,

B.

  • I'm not sure I understood your explanation, but I just selected breathwork, entered activity settings and got out with back key without problems. Tried the same after starting the activity, no problems. So either I misunderstood something or something is different between our 965s or their settings.

  • You're right - my explanation was missing the important step - try to go to the breathing technique - change technique submenu and see what happens then, please.

  • Sorry, I've now entered the change technique menu several times, both by entering the menu from activity startup screen and the select activity menu. Every time I could use the back key to return without problems.

  • Haha yes you're right, thanks! Then at least for me it seems to be limited to the following scenario: launch activities menu, scroll to breathwork activity, don't start but long-tap on breathwork activity to get the breathwork options menu, select breathing technique, then select change technique. Now from here I'm trapped in a loop and can't get back anymore. Sorry for being so unprecise.

  • Ok, now I could repeat your sequence and see the problem. I could still get out by long-pressing back (which I've set as hotkey for returning to watch face).

I suggest you report it to Garmin support directly and don't rely on anyone picking it up from here.
