Question to 965 users with more than 10-12 months of use (about Amoled screen)

Hello all,

I really love the MIP screen of my 955, but I look forward to the 965 from time to time.
I've had problems, with another brand, with AMOLED screens and I prefer to avoid them (burn-In, etc).
How goes 965 users fared with more than 10-12 months of use? Do you detect any of these problems?

Thank you very much!

  • Same here, no problems. But in all honesty, I don't use always-on-display, so I would have been very surprised if I had any burn-in after a year. I remember that there was a thread on the Epix 2 forum a couple of days ago where the poster had some burn-in after 2.5 years after using always-on most of the time.

  • Amoled annoys the h.ll out of me, but not because of any burn in issues. The screen looks just as pretty as a year ago.

  • No issues my side , I don't use always on , except for activities

  • Exactly the same for me.

  • No problems at all here @ 14 months of use.

  • I'll add that originally I was also worried about the fact that the 965 screen is raised slightly above the bezel, so I installed a film screen protector. After one year, even the protector is almost pristine, so no worries there either. I also bought a cheap TPU case protector with raised bezel to be used while hiking, but I've often forgotten to take it and still have no scratches (knocks on wood).

  • Always on during the day, in use since July 2023, no issues at all.

One thing that works very well ;-)

  • Thank you all for taking the time to respond and share your experience!

  • There are no longer burn-in issues with AMOLED screens.

At first, I was thrilled at how bright, colorful and clear the screen was.  Could finally see the numbers with my aging eyes.  The screen adapts to ambient lighting, so- outdoors in full sun you can see it clearly, and indoors, it’s appropriate.  You can adjust screen brightness to a level 1, 2 or 3.  I have mine set to ‘2’ for Activities- so it’s a bit easier to read, and ‘1’ for normal use so it’s a bit less obtrusive and looks closer to a MIPS experience.  The Always On Display is nice- but does use more battery.  Although a little less so with lower brightness.
