LAP Error Info

Hi

I've just done an activity today 06/11/2024 and I can't see the LAPs (it was 7km running and it shows as one LAP) info into Garmin Connect and also doesn't show as my last activity on the watch.

On the other hand, it's correct on STRAVA with all details.

What it could be? I'm wearing the Garming 965Forruner 19.18 Software Version!

Thanks in advance!

  • Do you have auto lap enabled and if so what distance?

  • Sure...it was a running with 7km distance only. And in each km (or LAP), i was hearing the pace in my earbuds. And after the race, i got all this details on my strava.

  • So there are numerous options that can be configured independent of each other. You can setup an audio alert at each KM which doesn’t not create a “lap” at that distance. That is why I asked what your auto lap settings are as that is the option that will create the individual laps.

  • Sorry, i was not clear... But it is set up! Auto lap on with auto distance 1.0km! I use garmin for running for 10 years and it was the first time it happened

  • Sounds like your activity FIT file may be corrupt. (Sometimes FIT files can be damaged in a way that affects their display differently in GC vs. Strava.) One way this can happen is if your watch crashes during an activity — it will reboot automatically and recover the activity so you can resume it, but the activity file may be corrupt in the end.

You can try obtaining the original FIT file and using the corrupt time fixer in FIT File Tools or posting a request in the Garmin Connect Web forums for someone to fix your file using the FIT File Repair tool. Once you’ve fixed the FIT file, delete the original activity from Garmin Connect, and manually upload the fixed FIT file (using the Garmin Connect website).

To get your original FIT file, either:

    - Open Garmin Connect in a browser, navigate to your activity, click on the gear icon in the upper right hand corner and select Export Original. (This is the easiest way.)

    or

    - Connect your watch to a computer with the USB cable and look for the activity FIT file in \GARMIN\ACTIVITY. If you’re on Mac, you need Android File Transfer (page currently broken) or OpenMTP

(This way is harder, and is only recommended if your activity didn’t make it into Garmin Connect)
