Garmin Forerunner 965 pay

Hi

I am trying to install a credit card for garmin pay (for 3 days now Slight smile ) . The bank is working on this issue,

but does not call me back.

I have installed the same card on my fenix 7X, there it works perfectly.

I gues i tried everything such as: updating, reinstalling, reset, wifi off etc. etc. - no result, the card

does somehow not connect to the bank or doe not receive ths verification code via SMS.

Softwareversion is 19.18

Anyone an idea?

  • If it works with Fenix but not with forerunner, then I would start in Garmin customer support, rather than in the bank

    the thing is, that the error response refers to the bank. it might be, that they they receive my sms-request, but cannot answer to that request, So the probably need to
    manualy confirm my card somehow. But this is just a guess. I had a similar problem a few months ago with the fenix, where i was told to deinstall all credit-card apps, even google wallet. One day later, it worked after reinstalling :) 
    This time it seems to be more complicated and you might be right that i have to try my luck with garmin-suppoert.

  • If you still have the fenix, I would try if I can add the card there NOW. If they, then go to Garmin, if not then continue with the bank.

  • I had actually already done that. I even deleted the credit cards from my Garmin account. After that I tried for 2 days to load them back onto the Fenix. And suddenly, after about 30 attempts, it installed and verified the cards :)

  • contacted Garmin and the people from the bank. For now, nowone can help me, they are checking all with IT-people.
    Has anyone the same issue? Do i also need to factory reset my Pixel 7 pro?. I dont hope so because, as i said, the creditcards work fine on the fenix (but not on the new fr965)

  • The same to me with a 955… not able to validate a Mastercard. It seems that the Garmin app do not call properly the bank app.The same issue with a Visa and same bank was solved after many attempts and calls to my bank assistance thanks to an optional validation method proposed by Garmin app. Both cards was correctly enabled on a Venu in the past.

  • thanks a lot. the thing is, i do not get an optional validation method on my garmin app, just the usual sms-verification method.

    Garmin has sent me an email meaning, they dont want to use more manpower on may watch Disappointed.  A few minutes ago, the bank guy called me saying, that their IT-people dont find a solution. But they had a similar case, where the customer waited 2 weeks for a garmin-answer. the answer was, they cannot help any further and it seems, this is an error occuring on this very specific watch...so what, i have closed all tickets (after trying for 10days) and i send my watch back. Thanks for your help.

  • Today the bank contacted me for the teenth time and basically told me that they can't solve the prioblem with Mastercard. The assistant operator could not tell me if it is an anomaly they are working on. The employee didn't seem to understand much about it and told me that simply that Garmin Pay with IOS and Mastercard doesn't work.
    Fortunately with Visa I had an alternative method to validate the card.
    It would be worth trying with a Curve type card.

  • It's a pity that in the middle of the 21st century these things are still this complicated. I wouldn't want to be in place of Garmin in this.
